Public Housing Homeownership Program

The Housing Authority of Cumberland County operates a Public Housing Home Ownership program, which began in 1993.  A total of 50 properties have been acquired and rehabilitated since that time in the boroughs of Shippensburg, Mt. Holly Springs, Lemoyne and Enola.  Families who participate in this program lease the property for three years during which time a portion of their rent is escrowed to cover down payment and closing costs.  Fifty families have purchased homes through this program.
