The Cumberland County Housing Authority manages seven buildings which offer affordable housing to persons with disabilities. Our facilities are located throughout Cumberland County. Map	One West Penn Apartments, 1 West Penn Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 One West Penn Apartments has 130 one-bedroom apartment units, nine of which are specifically designed for persons who are mobility impaired. Map	Brethren House Apartments 51 West Simpson St, Mechanicsburg PA 17055 Brethren House Apartments provides 5 one-bedroom apartments for persons with Mental Health and/or Mental Retardation disabilities. One unit is handicapped equipped on all one level. The other four units are “loft” apartments, the bedroom is on the second floor overlooking the living area. The phone number is (717) 791-6200. The Housing Authority of Cumberland County, in partnership with Cumberland/Perry Housing Initiatives, Inc. (CPHI) also offers a Shelter Plus Care/Supportive Living program. This program provides permanent affordable housing along with supportive services to homeless persons with mental health and /or mental retardation disabilities.

The areas served by this program include the West Shore area as well as Carlisle Borough, North Middleton, South Middleton, Silver Springs and Monroe Townships.

1) A diagnosis of mental illness and/or mental retardation. This must be verified through either the Cumberland/Perry Mental Health/Mental Retardation Agency or another government agency (e.g. social security).
